As part of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources' corporate social responsibility strategy:
Gastec supports the "Egypt in Our Eyes" initiative to assist underprivileged eye patients in Beni Suef.

In line with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources' CSR strategy and its commitment to enhancing its companies' contributions to healthcare support, Gastec has signed a cooperation protocol with the Mervat Sultan Charity Foundation. This protocol aims to support the "Egypt in Our Eyes" initiative to combat causes of blindness and impaired vision for underprivileged individuals in Beni Suef Governorate.

The protocol was signed by Eng. Abdel Fattah Farhat, Chairman and Managing Director of Gastec, and Mr. Abdel Aziz Hasouba, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mervat Sultan Foundation, representing the foundation. The signing ceremony was attended by Ms. Yasmin Naguib and Ms. Fatma Ibrahim, CSR officers at the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Ms. Shahenda Shiraz, General Manager of CSR at the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), Eng. Ehab Hassan, General Manager of Project Planning and CSR at EGAS, and Major General Haitham Saleh, General Manager of CSR at Gastec.

Gastec, in collaboration with the Mervat Sultan Foundation, will support the initiative by providing medical care to eye patients from remote and underserved areas in Qaftan El-Gharbiya village and surrounding areas in the Samasta district of Beni Suef Governorate. This will involve organizing a medical convoy with specialized doctors and technicians to conduct necessary examinations, provide treatments, and perform surgeries for eye patients. The initiative will also supply essential medicines, eyeglasses, and medical equipment needed to combat causes of blindness and impaired vision, covering the costs of screening and treatment.

Eng. Abdel Fattah Farhat emphasized Gastec's commitment to fully supporting this initiative to help Egypt's children and youth recover from this serious condition and integrate them into society. He highlighted Gastec's prioritization of service projects with a positive impact on underserved communities, especially in the field of healthcare, as it is fundamental to achieving a decent life for citizens. This aligns with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources' vision to enhance the contributions and projects of the petroleum sector to meet societal needs.

For his part, Mr. Abdel Aziz Hasouba, Vice Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, noted that the "Egypt in Our Eyes" initiative aims to contribute to eliminating causes of blindness in Egypt, believing that restoring vision is one of the most effective ways to alleviate suffering and reduce poverty and ignorance. This effort significantly contributes to societal development and enhances its capabilities. He expressed the foundation's enthusiasm for collaborating with the petroleum sector and Gastec in supporting and participating in developmental and service initiatives for the benefit of the nation, in alignment with the social objectives of the sector.
