Mervat Soltan Foundation for Charitable Works was established to complement the tender journey of the late banking professor Mervat Soltan in charitable work and community service, who was keen to provide support and follow up on charitable work herself to serve her country’s most needy and poorest people. Mervat Soltan has held many positions in the banking field. Most recently, she is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Export Development Bank until April 14, 2022. She was the only woman to hold the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Export Guarantee Company and the only woman to head an Egyptian government bank. She was chosen from the list of the 50 most influential women in the financial sector.
